NOT Gig 60: Mouthin’ Off @ The Nip and Tipple, Chorlton, Manchester – 27th May 2012

So, I’d better mention this cancelled gig out of some strange sense of over-commitment this diary.

I found on Tuesday morning that Mouthin’ Off had been called off at the behest of the venue.  It appears that the complete lack of an audience for NOT Gig 59 has scared them off from hosting any comedy\spoken word events.  It’s understandable because the Nip & Tipple doesn’t have a separate room for events, meaning that they have to close the entire bar off.  If nobody comes then they don’t make any money.  I guess the lesson to be learned is that putting on a good show isn’t enough to get people to attend.  Anyway, let’s hope that Mouthin’ Off resurfaces at some point as it had the makings of a good night.

This now makes it three cancelled gigs in the last couple of weeks.  It’s been a less than auspicious start to my second year of performing.  Let’s hope that D:Ream were right.

Oooh, hasn’t the weather been lovely? Oh, I know. I know.  It’s unbearable. But, you know, unbearable in a good way.  It’s made sitting on the sofa all day quite uncomfortable.  I should have probably have taken my coat off! Ha ha! Only joking, I’ve not been wearing a coat.  All I’ve been wearing is a smile.  And by smile I mean “shorts and t-shirt”.
