For those of you who haven’t been paying attention, I recently self-published a book based on my other blog, The World of Sherby57.  Despite only selling two copies to people other than myself, it’s been an interesting experience.  Mainly because it’s nice to have a real book with your own name on the front.  I’m easily pleased, I know.

Well, today saw another exciting milestone in my life as a best-selling author, as the book is now available to buy on Amazon.  In previous posts, we’ve already established that I’m fully aware that I am participating in vanity publishing, so I’m happy to say that my vanity has definitely been well and truly tickled by being available from the world’s largest book retailer.  It sounds impressive to be able to tell people that I have something they can buy on Amazon.  Hopefully they won’t then go on to ask how it’s selling.

Folks in the UK can check it out here:

Our American cousins can have a look at it here:

You can also, obviously, find it on the Amazon iPhone app.  It gives me a special thrill that it’s available on an iPhone app.  I’m very sad.  Here’s a photo of my glory:

Anyway, if anyone would like to leave a (positive) review on either of the sites then I would be eternally grateful.  Although it’s safe to say that most of you haven’t read the book, I think that if you’ve read my blog then you’re fully justified in writing a (positive) review on that basis.  After all, we’ve all read reviews on Amazon by people who have seen a TV programme but not bought the DVD of that same programme.  That’s only my own biased opinion, though.

You could also just buy the book.  That would be great.

      Thanks :)

I know that it’s not really that impressive to self-publish a book of nonsense, but I like the illusion of being a proper author.

One of these days when I’m really desparate (I’m not suggesting that you are!) I might self published a book at the end of my life when no one sign me up. :(

If you ever visited my blog I might buy your book. I’m just sayin’
    Yes that is blackmail
    lol

Luckily, I’m very open to blackmail! I do visit your blog, but I should just learn to leave more comments. You should notice that I’ve already left a comment today! And I didn’t just do it so that you’d buy my book lol.

Sorry about that. No I had no idea you had commented on my blog. Maybe on wordpress they tell you every time someone’s commented via email but not on blogger. I guess I will have to put a ‘recent comments’ widget on my page.

Wow, you’re now, like, John Grisham.

Soon, we – your loyal fanbase – will be mere memories as you tweet about shopping on Bond Street from the back of your Bentley driven by Ashley Cole and fueled on a biodiesel made from Bollinger and the finest olive oil from Tuscana…

Me and JG are like that. And by ‘like that’ I assume that you’re imagining me crossing my fingers.

Your description of my future life is like a dream come true. It’s so incredibly accurate as to what I want to achieve that it’s scary. It’s like you’ve been literally fishing around in my brain and pulling out fantasies using some kind of psychic fishing rod. But, don’t fret, I’ll never forget the little people. After all, I’m still Jenny from the block.

@EmmaK Luckily, WordPress does e-mail you every time somebody makes a comment. It’s just one of the reasons that I moved PSGOM from Blogger a year ago!

@JoV Self publishing is always an option. I think there’s a large element of luck in getting something published, so it’s no reflection on the quality of your work. And you can actually try and do self-publishing properly and try and promote your book. All I did was write a few half-hearted blog posts about it, so it’s no wonder I haven’t sold many.

Have you actually already written a book that you’re trying to get published?
