Nerdiness is an extremely attractive quality in a lady, CJ, you fox.. grrrrr. And thanks for filling me in on the songs, I was actually curious. The Ferris Bueller connection seems appropriately tenuous, but what was Dannii thinking choosing a song that was specifically from a specific film?

I don't know quite why Olly isn't doing it for me. I do have a nagging feeling that my opinion isn't really justified. I do think that if he changed things up a little with his song choices then I might warm to him a little more.

The main problem with Simon's decision is the hypocrisy, as he had slagged Jedward off every week (except this week). It was especially weird as Lucie had probably the best overall comments from the judges on Saturday. I just can't make up my mind whether he made the decision as a judge (getting rid of a better competitor) or as a TV mogul (keeping in the act that is pulling in the punters). You're quite right though, you can't blame Simon when it was decided by the public vote.

Hey Sherby.

It's a sign of my extreme nerdiness that I can tell you Olly's song was from "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and Lucie's was "This is Me" from the crap-fest that was "Camp Rock." I like Olly, I think he does a good job with the upbeat songs, but I agree with you and the judges - I really wish they'd give him a modern upbeat one as well. Not a ballad, mind - She's The One was Not Good - but I dunno, what about some Girls Aloud or Black Eyed Peas or something? BEP were great on the Sunday show, btw. As was Leona.

Anyway, I've never warmed to Lucie and while I think Simon's decision made him look like a hypocrite given he keeps banging on about it being a singing competition - and I wasn't too impressed with what he did in principle - even I would rather see Jedward perform than Lucie again, so on balance, maybe I kind of agree with him? Bizarrely. And you know I can't bear Jedward. But Lucie's performances, while reasonably competent are so completely boring. The public seemed to agree at the time, given she got the least votes, so it's a bit much for them to be blaming Simon for it now....

As far as the other contestants go, I agree Stacey's performance was unfortunate, Jamie's doubly so, and Danyl's very, very good. I thought Lloyd was much better than he has been, but I guess that's not much of a compliment...
