Self Portrait

Making the most of the fantastic new iPhone app, Autodesk SketchBookX, I’ve been creating some pop art style portraits. So, here’s one of me. Rest assured, my lips aren’t really that pink.
A blog that isn't about gravy or Def Leppard.

Self Portrait invites us to look deep within our souls at our very essence. Self portrait reminds us to smile at the universe, and it will smile back: the very ethos of the ‘collective consciousness’: what we put out into the universe, will be projected back to us, amplified. The Green jumper symbolises the earth and us earthly beings that dwell on it. The orange background symbolises the divine being that, according to the collective consciousness, dwells within us all, that we usually attribute to being ‘out there’. In self portrait, the man is superimposed onto divinity.
Gosh, you’re so incredibly deep doc, even though I know you’re just mucking about! I did wonder whether or not the green/orange colour scheme was a sign of a subconscious desire to be Irish.
I am pretty divine though, so I think you may be right.
I have no deep insights to offer….
Your left eye and the brow, shouldn’t they be levelled with the other side?!!
Strangely not, it’s an accurate representation of a photo. I’ve either got a wonky face or my head was on a slight angle.

I love this app….I have more apps for photo manipulation and drawing than can fit on a single page of my Itouch, but this one is a stand-out. I particularly like the way you can work with layers in SketchbookX. i just with I had more time to play with it. I’ve been thinking about setting up a Group on Flickr for people to post their digital creations from Iphone apps.
It really is a great little app – I especially like being able to use layers to give me some semblance of artisitc talent!!

It’s amazing that you can draw such an accurate line using your finger!
