No Time To Blog: Day 4 – One Hundred
September 19, 2009 4 Comments
Welcome to the one hundredth post on Pour Some Gravy On Me. I don’t know why 100 is a more significant number than any other, and worthy of celebrating, but it is.
Maybe.
OK, of course I know it isn’t more significant, but I’ve chosen to make a big deal of post 100 and I’m not about to back down now, so let’s just drop it. Congratulations to me.
Meanwhile, I’ve just completed writing my first proper post for ages, a 1000-word look at the television watching phenomenon, The Soap Effect. It should be published some time next week. It felt good to write something ‘proper’, regardless of whether it is any good or not.
I’m currently watching last night’s Newsnight Review as I write this. I’m so bloody intellectual. I like it best when you get two completely opposite opinions on the same thing, it’s fun. Also, that Germaine Greer is very blinking intelligent.

Happy hundredth!
Why thank you so much! The next milestone is 1000 posts, and so I better get my finger out!
I read somewhere that most blogs have a very finite lifespan and most people quit after a year. You gotta wonder what’s going to happen with all those abandoned blogs floating around in the noosphere. But nailing your 100th post is a good mark to celebrate (I’ll write mine next week and I’ve had my blog just over 2 years). Congratulations for achieving that goal and here’s hoping you’ll be around for 200…300…etc.
Thanks for the encouragement Cliff
It’s very weird to think of all those dead blogs out there, lost and abandoned for all time. I know I’ve landed on quite a few of them when following “Possibly Related Posts”.
I’ve had my other blog, http://www.sherby57.co.uk for about two and a half years and I’m up to 233 posts, so I’m slightly closer to that magic 1000 mark!
I look forward to reading your post number 100 next week!
